Is Morpheus8 or Ultherapy Better for Skin Tightening?

If you are looking for skin tightening, along with skin rejuvenation— Morpheus8 and Ultherapy are 2022's "Gold Standard" treatments.

Morpheus8 is a combination of micro-needling and radiofrequency energy applied to the facial skin to remodel and contour. The Morpheus8 application is also available for the body and neck skin. This fractional treatment penetrates deep into the skin and fat for a smoother and sleeker appearance. Standard micro needling penetrates 2mm deep in the skin, while a Morpheus Treatment can go down to 6mm deep. Morpheus helps with skin texture, pore size, acne scarring, and skin laxity.

What is Morpheus8& How long does it last?

Morpheus8 is not Botox which has FDA- approved longevity. So it is hard to say how long it takes for you to further age, as every day we are aging. The Morpheus8 is a collagen bomb that causes denaturing of collagen which in turn induces a massive regenerative effect of collagen and elastin remodeling that can take 3- 6 months. Cosmetic physicians, dermatologists, and plastic surgeons all have conflicting repeat treatment recommendations with the most common being bi-yearly or yearly maintenance. In Beverly hills, it has been heard to recommend quarterly, although the average patient at La Chele enjoys maintenance treatments every 6- 12 months. At La Chelé Medical Aesthetics we always recommend starting with the recommended series of 3 treatments one month apart and then doing a maintenance treatment every 6- 12 months on the face. If treating the body the initial series is done every 6- 8 weeks apart as non-face regions take longer to heal since there is less sebaceous( oil glands) on the body.

What is Ultherapy& how long does it last?

Ultherapy is the only FDA- approved micro-focused ultrasound procedure that lifts and tightens skin tissue from the chest to the brows. This state-of-the-art treatment will stimulate all levels of collagen in your skin tissue. Ultherapy can target a depth of 1.5mm to 4mm based on the goals of each patient and will tighten and smooth fine superficial lines to prevent further aging of the skin. At La Chele, we have had Ultherapy for over a decade. Its 'claim to fame' is that we can actually visualize the layer we are in by looking at the ultrasound screen and targeting the 4mm layer of SMAS, which can give some DEEP lifting. This treatment is more commonly done from the submentum( upper neck) to the midface. Another popular zone is around the eyes for a brow lift. It still remains so popular due to its lack of downtime! If keeping your facial skin tight and preventing future sagging is a personal goal, this treatment is a good choice. Results have been shown to last up to 18 months, although the majority of La Chele patients will maintain once a year.
